Everything back up and running. Sorry for the downtime.

The internet connection in our studio has gone down, which for an internet radio station is pretty fatal.

Due to circumstances out of our control the venue for tonight’s meeting has had to be changed. We are now meeting at 7.30pm in Teviot Underground which is part of the Univeristy of Edinburgh’s student union. There’s a map here.

Note: Meetings will now be held at the usual time of 7:30pm, Tuesdays, downstairs at the City Cafe.

That’s right, after the summer break and month long Fringe Festival madness, we’re back for another year of exciting broadcasting from the centre of Edinburgh.

You know the drill: you want to catch a quick fifteen minutes of Fresh Air in the morning or in the library, but for some reason the links at the top of the web site aren’t working. Is the computer broken? Is the stream down? Oh, to hell with it: you just give up and go about your day grumpy and/or depressed.

Well, as of today Fresh Air is just a few clicks away if you’re an iTunes user. If you haven’t downloaded iTunes already, get it here – once it’s open, click on Radio on the left, expand either the Alt/Modern Rock or Eclectic categories, and double-click on Fresh Air – The Alternative. It’s really that simple!

Guess what – this ain’t just a pretty face. It’s a whole new home for Fresh Air, and by that I mean that Fresh Air has switched web hosts for the first time in 5+ years. We owe a huge debt of gratitude towards our previous web hosts, DriveThruHosting.com, basically for putting up with us this long! Seriously, you guys have been such a great help on more than one occasion, and have carried us through at least half a dozen incredibly successful broadcasts.

With that, it’s almost time to move on. You’ll notice the web site looks a bit sparse for now – that’s because the committee as a whole really hasn’t had the time to add much content, what with all the other prep work required to get the broadcast up and running and to get the technological side of the web site sorted. That said, we now have huge potential for expansion over the coming weeks, so expect a bunch of stuff to appear shortish, as well as your old favourites.
