This evening (Saturday) at 5pm tune into Fresh Air to hear the start of your Saturday night out with the Club SAturn show. Enjoy the clarity!
Any veteran listeners of past Fresh Air broadcasts will know that it just ain’t a Fresh Air broadcast if it’s trouble-free. This year we’ve unfortunately been prevented from broadcasting on FM due to the imminent launch of Edinburgh’s new talk radio station, Talk107, and that has meant adjusting to a whole new main broadcast mechanism, with all the teething troubles that come with it.
I have had a few irate e-mails from people complaining about the past quality of the stream, and to those people I can only apologise – our technical complement for this broadcast has been reduced to, er, me, but I have been working flat out sparing no expense to correct the remaining problems with our broadcast stream.
Most of these problems have originated within existing wiring in the studio, so last week I spent a total of fourteen hours in the wee hours of the morning ripping every cable out, cataloguing and repairing them if necessary, then plugging them all back in. The studio’s looking and sounding a lot tidier as a result, and with the final piece of the rewiring puzzle completed earlier tonight our broadcast is sounding better than ever before.
So, turn on, tune in and cop out – Fresh Air’s sounding fresh once again. Or something. Enjoy!
