FAQ!

- Do I need an iPod?
Nope. It’s just that people often use iTunes for Podcasts, and so podcasts often end up on iPods!

- What in the hell is a Podcast then?
Very simply, it is a way of getting downloads onto your computer for you. You put the link at the top of the page into a piece of software (such as iTunes - see below) and then the software will download new audio clips for you as and when they become available. So, for example, if you use the Fresh Air Podcast in iTunes, every time a new download is available on the site, iTunes will just download it for you. It’s as though you are subscribing to our downloads.

- How do I subscribe? What software do I need?
As mentioned above, iTunes does the trick, and lots of people have it. Just go to the ‘Advanced’ tab, then click on ‘Subscribe to Podcast’. Then just copy and past in the link at the top of the page.
If you don’t have iTunes, a good program to use is iPodder - it’s just a small program which won’t take over your computer and will get podcasts for you. Download either for free, just click the logos:
