Radio Hoohah

An odd pickle, this two-hander which can be summated as a series of sketches under the banner of a failing radio station, once glorious and now barely passing muster. The best joke was an acidic jus/ Hasidic Jew pun, something of which we should have seen more. Mackenzie and McGuire are both accomplished performers, inventing some characters who were interviewed in studio such as the useless socialite and the self-help guru, topoi breathed new life and not at all tired, though some gags may have gone on half-a-minute too long. The highlight was Farming Today with its tape delay and ensuing hilarity.

The show could have been pared down further, as I found there was not enough laughter to merit a terrific show. Perhaps, ironically enough, this show would work better on the wireless. Decent, though.
