1. BIBI BOURELLY - EGO
The mastermind behind Rihanna’s huge hit ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’, Bibi Bourelly is stepping out from behind the scenes. Her latest single ‘Ego’ is raw, blues-tainted R&B, packed with the rough and ready edge that made the Rihanna track such a banger. Huge things will come from the 21 year old. Rachel Earnshaw

2. GRIMES - FLESH WITHOUT BLOOD
It’s easy to forget that the last album from Grimes was three years ago. In the time since her third album Visions was released, Grimes (aka Claire Boucher) became a sensation and pop star icon. Now she has finally released “Flesh Without Blood”, the first single from her upcoming album “Art Angels”. It sees her taking a different direction from the gothic and lofi electronics of her previous album into lushly produced guitar and vocal led pop music. Patrick Cartlidge

3. TRUST FUND - BIG ASDA
Honestly, the latest Trust Fund album is one of my favourite albums of the year, heartbreaking and stunningly honest and relatable, Ellis Jones’ songwriting is perfect. ‘Big Asda’ taken from ‘Seems Unfair’ is just another example of the magic that is Trust Fund. RE

4. LONTALIUS X CUTMYLIPS - MOONCATCH
This collaboration between vocalist Lontalius and up-and-coming producer CutMyLips is one of the best offerings on Secret Songs this year. The warped and glitchy Hemsworth inspired instrumental complements Lontalius’ sublimely melancholic vocals perfectly for a devastatingly emotional track.PC

5. BLOOD ORANGE - SANDRA’S SMILE
Dev Hynes’ latest offering under his Blood Orange moniker is similar to tracks from Cupid Deluxe, yet softer and a bit less funky. Suitably so, considering his topic of conversation, on what is a subtler, yet at the same still quite obvious, follow up to his overtly political ‘Do You See My Skin Through The Flames?’, released earlier this year. Charles T. Lang

6. CHANCE THE RAPPER - ANGELS

7. VULFPACK - BACK POCKET

8. PHILIP BUDNY - HASH

9. RICK ROSS - HELLO (REMIX)
Undoubtedly, Rick Ross’ additional verse on Adele’s ‘Hello’ is stunning. He doesn’t change anything or mess with Adele’s vocals, and rightly so, instead he simply adds a beautiful verse to a beautiful song. CTL

10. EL VY - SILENT IVY HOTEL
El Vy is what you could call a super collaboration. The duo made up of Matt Berninger (The National) and Brent Knopf (Menomena/Ramona Falls) are releasing their debut album “Return to the Moon” on 30th October. This fifth, eerie track is accompanied by a stylish, Halloween-inspired video and is definitely not a waste of love. Sara Knight

11. SOAK - RECKLESS BEHAVIOUR
Great news for young singer-song writer, Bridie Monds-Watson, from Derry: Her first heartfelt and beautiful album “Before We Forgot How to Dream” has been short-listed for this year’s mercury prize! In witty lyrics she sings about the weirdness of growing up and sea creatures. Great news for you: she’ll be playing in Edinburgh on Monday!SK

12. THE STRAYIN SPARROWS - BANKOK ROULETTE
Alternative rock in Germany is alive and well thanks to The Strayin Sparrows. Keeping up the tradition of bands like Led Zep and Queens of the Stoneage, the quartet deliver a cool and at the same time exciting mix of heavy, rhythmic rock with psychedelic and bluesy elements. The riffs are rough but elegant, the drums are loud but not drowning, the bass is laid back but not boring and the inspired vocals just fit the overall sound perfectly.SK

13. C DUNCAN - FOR (AUTUMN REWORK)
Another Mercury-Prize-nominee, C Duncan makes iridescent indie folk in the tradition of Fleet Foxes. He works with many layers and loops creating a soothing sound that makes you all fuzzy inside. Just the right track for cold autumn days.SK

14. J VIEWZ - DON’T PULL AWAY FT. MILOSH

15. MONEY - YOU LOOK LIKE A SAD PAINTING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SKY
