PLAYLIST: 16/11

FreshAir.org.uk Playlist: 16/11 from freshairmusic on 8tracks Radio.

1. SHEER MAG - FAN THE FLAMES
Philadelphia rockers Sheer Mag released their second E.P earlier this year. The lead single ‘Fan The Flames’ is a perfectly crafted rock song.Rachel Earnshaw.

2. MISSY ELLIOTT - WTF (WHERE THEY FROM) FT. PHARELL WILLIAMS

3. FRANKIE COSMOS - YOUNG

4. CARLY RAE JEPSEN - YOUR TYPE
This release from Carly Rae Jepsen album’s “Emotion” is yet another 80s inspired banger. “Your Type” focuses on unrequited love and lyrically is the opposite to “I Really Like You” or “Call Me Maybe”. The fantastic production and great vocal performance by Jepsen makes this yet another perfect pop song from one of the best pop albums of th year.Patrick Cartlidge

5. GRIMES - FENUS FLY FT. JANELLE MONAE
“Art Angels”, the new album from Grimes, is a singular and unique take on pop music. “Venus Fly” is one of the best examples of this, where Grimes takes the classic “trappings” of an EDM track and moulds them into her own image. Janelle Monae lends a hand on the chasm of a drop with a combative cheerleader chant against objectification. PC

6. ERYKAH BADU - PHONE DOWN

7. RICKY EAT ACID - DEAR LORD
Ricky Eat Acid is perhaps best known for “Three Love Songs”, a stellar album which possessed an emotional core that most drone and ambient inspired electronic music lacks. The soothing and calming tones of that album are left behind in this new track from Baltimore based producer however. “Dear Lord” is clearly inspired by trap music but still retains signature qualities of Ricky Eat Acid’s sound for glitchy take on modern club music.PC
