Fresh Fringe Recommends: Brontide - 17th August - Sneaky Pete's

English three-piece instrumental post-rock band Brontide will be playing at Sneaky Pete's tonight with support from local lads Lady North and it promises to be one of the highlights of the festival.  Not ones to get overly carried away with ramming as many notes into each track as possible their songs are defined by thumping rhythms and epic harmonies rather than anything purely vituosic.  Lady North are the perfect complement to Brontide with guitar loops and off-kilter drum beats being held together with smart basslines their music is very much progressive and experimental but never lacks direction.  Simply put, these two bands make some of most accessible and satisfying instrumental music around, don't miss it!
