Balado’s Last Stand – TITP Waves Goodbye.
Music fans from across Scotland are saying farewell to much loved Balado in Kinross-shire which has hosted T in the Park for the majority of its 21 year history.
Jake Bugg, Bastille and Example are amongst those performing at the final day with headliners Arctic Monkeys bringing the curtain down on T at Balado.
Next year the festival will move to Strathallan Castle in Perthshire with early bird tickets going on sale this week.
Festival director Geoff Ellis said: “This is about bye, bye Balado, an end of an era.”
“Next year, Strathallan Castle, the start of a new chapter, a blank canvas, a chance to re-invigorate the event.”
“We are looking forward to that, but it will be sad when Arctic Monkeys come off stage on Sunday.”
85000 people have so far been enjoying a weekend of music. Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris wowed the crowd last night when he invited none other than the Fresh Prince of Balado, Will Smith, on stage.
Speaking before his performance Calvin Harris said; “There’s always stand-out moments each year, and it tends to be here at T.”
“For me personally it’s extra scary cause it’s in Scotland, and I’ve known this festival since I was a little boy.”
In true Scottish fashion the rain did not hold back yesterday but it looks like today could be sunnier with highs of 19 degrees C.
FreshAir reporter Alice Carr is in Balado with updates over at @FreshAirRadio and here on our website. She sent this photo to demonstrate just how wet yesterday was.
