Blackburn 0-0 Everton

Blackburn Rovers and Everton played out a tedious 0-0 draw tonight at Ewood Park.  The result didn’t help Blackburn in their relegation battle or Everton who are hoping for champions league football. In an ugly and scrappy first 20 minutes it was Everton who came closest to opening the scoring in the opening seconds as Jo fired a deflected shot wide.  The home crowd were letting out their frustrations with the referee with ironic cheers for their perceived lack of favourable decisions.

The second half followed a similar tone. Blackburn had the better chances of the second half when Warnock hit the bar with a free kick.  Jason Roberts wasted a great chance when he was played through on goal placing his shot straight at the Everton keeper.

Rather than put us out our misery the referee insisted on playing five minutes of injury time.  Even then neither team could find it in them to grab a winner.
