Manchester United took another step in their search for five major honours today as the comfortably brushed aside Fulham 4-0 at Craven Cottage this evening to book their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.

The game started a bit scrappy and Fulham almost took the lead when Van De Sar was wrong footed by an Andy Johnson flick but the ball was cleared off the line by Vidic.  They had another good chance when a Clint Dempsy header was neatly saved by Van De Sar. But it was United who got the opening goal against the run of play and didn’t look back.  Rooney’s flicked on header from an Anderson Corner was nodded in by Tevez after the 20th minute.  The Argentine made it 2-0 15 minutes later when he picked up the ball just inside the Fulham half and drove at goal cutting inside and driving a shot into the top corner of the net.

The game ended as a contest just after the break when Rooney curled a shot into the bottom right hand corner.  United played as thought he game was a training exercise and Fulham never looked like getting back into it.

The rout was completed by Ji-Sung Park who picked up a loose pass before cutting inside the last defender and placing a shot beyond the hapless Schwarzer.

A comfortable win for United which will keep them in high spirits as they look forward to the return leg of the champions league against Inter Milan during the week.
